SERVING OUR HEALTHCARE WORKERS

In partnership with St. Peter's AME Church , OSKMN is passionate about getting out in the community to help where there is a need.

Partnering with local chefs to feed essential healthcare workers in the Twin Cities. Chef Lachelle Cunningham prepared the meals we served to the Mental Health ICU staff at Hennepin County Medical Center in June and Chef Curt Rademacher prepared the meals we served to the Bridge For Youth in July. We will continue this program for the duration of the pandemic and we look forward to partnering with more chefs and feeding more essential employees.

FREE COVID19 TESTING

We partnered with St. Peter's AME Church, Stairstep Foundation, the Minnesota Department of Health and the Fairview Nurses where over 300 tests were administered.

YOUR VOTE MATTERS

Why It’s Important that We – VOTE!

Everything to gain, and much to lose

Some fear that depending on this election’s final result that disparities in the Black community, such as unemployment, housing, education and health could worsen.

“African Americans should vote because we are the ones that are at the bottom of the pole economically, at every level you can think of,” said Berry.

According to a 2011 Economic Policy Institute study, Minnesota has the highest unemployment disparities between Whites and Blacks in the nation. Unemployment for White workers is about seven percent, while for Black workers it’s 20 percent.

African Americans are also more likely to die from prostate cancer and breast cancer than their White counterparts, according to a 2010 Minnesota Department of Health report, and African American youth have the highest rates of obesity.

If Black voters don’t express their needs to elected officials, their needs most likely won’t be addressed. “I think our vote is important because it will determine a lot of issues that affect African Americans,” said Quarles.

A NATIONAL CALL TO PRAYER

COMING TOGETHER FOR OUR CHILDREN

“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

— Matthew 18:19-20

Our children's emotional, mental, & physical health, their strength, and their emotional & physical safety are under attack! Our Sister’s Keeper and the Communities of the Twin Cities are coming together for 31 days to fight in prayer and demand the enemy release our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews from ALL hurt, harm and destruction.
